Octopus skimmer pump frozen

Hi Albert, I was able to contact Vue tech via email. This is the reply they sent me. I am furious! I was expecting them to send me a new skimmer not a bill!
They are accusing me of dropping the skimmer and running it dry. Im so insulted. Please talk to them and confirm that I have had problems with the skimmer from day one and documented all of this with you as it happened.

We received your skimmer and some concerns as to your claims with it. The skimmer seems to have been dropped as the acrylic collection cup has stress cracks running all through it. The bulk head union is also broken. The skimmer pump has run dry and burned the pump out. We know when a pump has run dry because it melts and distorts the plastic body of the pump housing. If you would like I will repair the existing skimmer for you with a new pump, union and collection cup for $70.00 plus shipping and send it back to you.

I finally had a chance to speak to Albert on the phone about my problems. He really is a great guy to do business with. He solved my problem with Vue Technology and offered to pay for the costs involved. Thanks again Albert! I plan on buying all my aquarium needs from Aquacave. This hobby is much more pleasurable when we have people like Albert and Roger from Tunze watching out for us. I believe that this will be my last update about the frozen octopus pump and put this thread to rest!
