Octupus Skimmer Problem

I have a hang on the back Octopus skimmer. It is overflowing with foam onto the carpet. Does anyone have this problem with these skimmers? I've read good reviews on them but haven't had very good luck with this one.....

sounds like its workin. sorry, i had too. not familiar with the skimmer but can you raise the cup to make the foam drier?

Ha yeah working too well!! The cup is at the highest setting I can put it at.......

Can you put a drain hole in it and add a hose down in to a gallon jug to catch all the liquid gold?

here's what i did with my G2 . the one tube on the right was the air intake ( cant here it at all in there), the other two were for a water tight 1 gal container , the big line is the overflow line and the small one is a air vent so it can push out the air as it fills up ,,, had to change it once every week or so

What Octopus skimmer is it?

Do you use any additives like stress coat? This will cause a skimmer to go nutz. I also like to run the skimmer with vinegar water for a couple hours to remove the oils from the plastic. Then add it to your tank.

Hey all. Thanks for the input everyone! I actually do use a stress coat and come to think of it, it does seem to make things a little worse when I add. I am going to try to add a drain hole and tube Hopefully that helps!
