Odd clown behaviour

My new pair of Wild PNG Percs have been behaving really odd today...they've given the GBTA Hell by constantly ramming into so it has now completley closed and what they have done now the anemone has gone into hiding is dug out a hole in the sand exposing the glass base of the tank???

Will i have to seperate the nem from the clowns or will they get used to one another?

Thanks

Elliott

Clownfish can be very rough on anemones. They should be fine as long as the anemone is not to small. How long have you had the anemone and clown pair? What size it the anemone?

Hiya

Ive had the clowns and the anemone lastweek i added them at the same time the nem is about 6 inches round when fully expanded and the clowns are about 2 inches the female is probably 2 and a half inches

Many thanks

Elliott

6" is a nice size so it will be able to take some abuse. Some clowns can love an anemone to death but it doesn't happen to much with percs. For now I would just leave them alone and see what happens.

Since the BTA is a new addition it may just be moving to find a place that it likes. Have you feed it yet? Around 24 hours after feeding it will deflate to expel the waste. Most anemone owners freak when they see this as they think it is dying. After a few hours it re-inflates back to normal. Keep us posted.

Thanks for that ..i don't feel so worried now:)

The Nem itself hasn't actually moved in the week ive had it..thats quite a good sign right?

A good sign indeed. Have you tried to feed it? The clowns in an effort to keep the anemone clean will also dig the sand away from the anemone.
