Oddball Stream question.

Hey Roger,
Would a Stream pump work as efficiently without the shroud/cover/nozzle whatever it's called? :)

Just the impeller hanging out?

Thanks,
Sean

They use more power that way and the flow is more spread with almost no reach. The main concern I would have would be on a 6000 it may damage the transformer and on a 6060 or 6080 it may damage the motor but it should be OK on the other models.

Nice to know.
I am designing a new tank and want to have a box built behind the back wall to place a Streams in...and just cover the front of the box with black gutter guard.
That way nothing in the tank.

Another thought is too have the same box and have a hole cut out wide enough for the streams cover to protrude out.

I lose the ability to aim the units but with my other flow systems I don't believe it will (hope it won't ;)) be a problem.

Nothing more than the planning stages right now.

Thanks Roger,
Sean

MRC makes a overflow where they mount the streams into the wall. You should check their site out.
