My acan has been retracted for about a week. All other corals are fine although i did lose my cleaner shrimp the other day for an unknown reason. Params are as follows
temp 80.0
pH 8.2 morning 8.3 evening
SG 35ppt
alk 8dKH
calcium 440ppm
trates 0ppm
trites 0ppm
ammonia 0ppm
It looked great for a couple weeks then just seemed to crash. I'm assuming lighting has something to do with it as i'm still not sure how to acclimate corals to T5s i guess. At this point i have eggcrate over the tank, overlapped with another sheet of eggcrate, with a large screen of mesh over that.
I have a small bit of cyano popping up on the sand only around where i had the acan placed. This showed up about the time the acan stopped inflating. I added a phospate remover on wednesday and i have upgraded my skimmer to a reef octopus nw200. It hasn't started skimming yet, but we are on day 4 or 5 so it should kick in anytime. i'm hoping that wipes out the cyano, if not i'll hit it with chemiclean next weekend.
Anyway, i got home friday night to this
