off topic: scorpions in TN?

I had never seen an armadillo in TN but a few weeks ago there was an armadillo carcass at the end of our street on the main road.

Don't put too much stock in this, but we live on a lake and one of our neighbors swears he sees an alligator on a regular basis. I have a hard time buying that one but who knows anymore. BTW, we live in Southern Middle TN, near Manchester, but I still think it is too cold for gators. Something has been killing ducks and geese, but I think that it is a fox or minks.

Oh, and we do have scorpions. They are tiny though, the biggest ones are 1.5" at most. And they are translucent.

From the link i posted above-

Scorpions are collected at night using a portable blacklight also called a UV light. Exposure to a blacklight at night will cause scorpions to fluoresce green and thus are easy to see. The fluorescence is caused by a substance excreted from the outer or cuticle layer of skin. Scorpions that have just molted do not fluoresce until the new cuticle has hardened. This feature is common to all scorpions.
