Big Doyers fan, but Kershaw at this point in his career is just not a big-game pitcher. I hate to say it, but the numbers don't lie.

Although the numbers don't look good, they might not lie but they do mislead. So many factors not taken into account to make that type of assessment. Just my $1.02

Kershaw could pick up a part time gig throwing batting practice for the Giants during the series. Never too early to start prepping for next year.

So far post season has gone exactly like I thought.

Giants 2014 World Champs in six games.

The fact the Giants have been here and won so often last few yrs shows they know how to do this dance so you could be right. I wifi definitely be sending my karma the Royals way so check back for sure

The post season experience angle is a big deal, for the managers maybe more than some of the players. The Nats vs. Giants NLDS really showed that, Williams was out managed by Bochy.

To be clear, I love hating the dodgers, but it's all in good fun. :celeb1:

Do you LA fans like the new whiz kid exec move?

From up here the "moneyball" approach seems like a big culture shift from the big money payroll you guys have now.

I completely agree with your manager assessment. Managing in playoffs is different then managing regular season. Mattingly goofed up big time as did Williams. As far as the player angle, you can tell when a team, even if they're losing, are not being affected by their circumstances and are remaining focused and patient. The Giants and Cardinals do this, the Dodgers did not. I've coached youth sports throughout my adult life. My mantra has always been "it's not about who has the best players, it's about who plays the game best". The Giants and Cards are great examples of that metaphor.
Friedmans not a moneyball guy like Beane. He's an ex ball player (like Beane) with a Wall Street background who shows incredible vision and has the ability to work well with everyone. He was strapped for the cash like Beane but I think there analytical approach to the game are both different and successful. Friedman is very smart with the draft and building from the farm system. He's not only a great judge of talent but he seems to also pick high draft picks that actually have the character and mental mindset to play in the highest levels. Being talented enough to be drafted high doesn't translate to a future big leaguer. Im excited for the future!

Rik, did you see the young girl throw the first pitch... She made it the the mound before kershaw. That guy must be on watch .. With depression.-(.

Go Giants

Most Giant fans:

"Go Giants!" - since 2010

Yup! I always ask them if they own a Croix de Candlestick. 99.9% have no idea what I'm talking about. Nor do they remember when fans of their team used to chuck batteries at opposing players. I spent a few years living in the Central Valley, and those A's fans in the late 90's/2000's are now " die-hard giANTS fans". :angryfire:

Just so everyone knows I'm puking my guts out as I type this...

Congrats to the Giants. Your team was superior tonight Richard. Gooo dodgers! !!

This maybe the best option for peace every year between Giants and dodgers fans. We will acknowledge the dodgers as the division champs and just settle for the world championship!

I've enjoyed the banter this year guys. Thanks. On a serious note, If panda ends up in dodger blue my kids will need therapy!

Best pitching performance of all time. Pretty sure the Giants need to pay Panda the big bucks and keep him - the guy has been clutch in October and part of the winning tradition. My bro and I were talking tonight (I'm 40 and he is 46) about how my nephew doesn't realize how special this has been to watch...he just thinks the Giants always win. I know you diehard Dodger fans died a little bit inside tonight and that makes it even more special. HA! Believe me, I spent many years rooting for a team that was sucking eggs while freezing my butt off at Candlestick. I actually ended the last home game ever there and the last home game ever at Jack Murphy. Kershaw can keep winning those Cy Young awards....Bochy and Giants somehow figure out a way to get hot when it matters in October.
