Hey guys I did a search and did not come up with much. so I thought Would start a thread dedicated to the FTS macro out there. weather it a SH tank ,display fuge or stand alone macro tank let"s see them.

maybe we can get a mod to make this a sticky so ppl and get inspiration in to the wonderful world of macro algae.

so post a few pics at least one FTS and tell RC a lil about your set up.
lighting, size, PH , etc. anything you fell like sharing really.

lets have some fun and keep this thread going.

Ok here are three full tank shots from 2005-07. The tanks are in order by the date they were set up.

37 tall from 2005 this was my first macro tank. It had a small sump with skimmer and a 2 x 65 watt cf fixture with a 65000K and blue bulb. The tank was great for seahorses but too tall for for the amount of rock that was in it. The top third is empty making it look less grown in.

30 gallon cube tank with an big aquaclear filter and a 10000 k 96 watt quad CF bulb. The tank had three erectus seahorses.

10 gallon with small hob filter and powerhead. The lighting was a 65 watt 10000K cf bulb. The tank was later changed with a wide assortment of more colorful macros and 6 sexy shrimp. The last pix shows the shrimp near the feeding station I used to help keep getting food items lost in the macros.

I thought it might be good to show before and after FTSs. Not sure what to say about it, as I have covered a lot in my thread. I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone has.

Great thread idea! Salt Water Planted Tank aficionados unite! And post pics!

This tank has 1"-2" of mixed grade (.1mm-1mm) aroggonite. In tank circulation uses two MaxiJet 1200. HOB filter provides chemical filtration using small amounts of activated carbon and a sponge provides mechanical filtration.

The tank has been set up for 4 months. It had previously crashed due to Red Planaria.

I also use a 40W UV sterilizer for increased water clarity. This tank biotheme is the heart of my business model at AquacultureRanch.com. I would like to appeal to reef enthusiast who have a budget of money and time. While the sterilizer is not required, it gives me one more simple tool to manage nutrient rich seawater.

This display lagoon is a conceptual dream from 20 years ago, "elegance in simplicity" .

Wow. Your tank looks like Mardi Gras.

With respect to Nemastoma which comes from the IndoPacific or Halmenia Elongata which comes from Gulf of Mexico, both are gelatinous.

Where did the rock come from?

Ok here is my 70 tall seagrass tank. It had turtle, shoal and manatee grasses.CPR sump and skimmer and 150, 10,000K MH and two 96 watt CF 6500 Ks. Seven inch enriched sand bed.
