With respect to Nemastoma which comes from the IndoPacific or Halmenia Elongata which comes from Gulf of Mexico, both are gelatinous.

Where did the rock come from?

No clue.. it was in a frag tank at a local LFS... I asked if I could have it haha..

Was much smaller and brighter red had grown a ton in about 2 weeks... also see a few more stalks popping up.. here was 2 weeks ago... it's also at the bottom of my 30" deep tank so likely lighter color due to lower light...

Hi Darth_Tater, it's a species of Cladophora, I call it "Bob Ross Algae" because it reminds me of his hair lol

Thanks Landshark! I made it myself, to hide a powerhead. This is in keeping with my 'no plumbing visible in the display' rule.
