The shipping was in accordance to UPS own guidelines which was checked with UPS before shipping.
If something arrives with signs of damage the normal policy is to email us with photos first BEFORE attempting installation as we would have no clue if something did not work what was at fault, contacting me by email is important especially as after tomorrow I will not be on RC until past the new year so if you have nay questions it will be the only way to reach me.
The box is stuffed full so you can not get anything else inside. The components are in electrostatic bags for further protection and the box is inside a weather proof durable mailing bag.
In your case I am happy for you to pop it back to us for us to test it so there is no complaint. Otherwise how do we know what was at fault if it did not work, shipping damage or installation error?
As a test I have just tried to crush one of these boxes full of chips. I gave up! So no idea what UPS did with yours to arrive in such a state.
@ Spinny - No it does not have a one year warranty, it has in fact a 2 year warranty
In accordance with GHL instructions posted here, the fitting of the unit by third parties is not warrantied, i.e you turn it on and it does not work, if however after successful installation the unit fails of course it is then covered as it is proven to work prior.
To obtain FULL warranty the units must be fitted by us as posted quite a while back, but not one single person took up the offer
Ok now I am waiting for the replies regarding this, but please understand "I do not set the warranty conditions" these are direct warranty criterias of GHL GmbH. IF this policy concerns you in any way please contact GHL directly, I am merely the messenger, and have made this policy clear for a long time now.

Are the units tested before leaving Germany?
Answer - Yes, no further hands touched any components prior to reaching the purchaser
Are the components protected from EMS
Answer - All PCB's are inside antistatic bags for this reason.
How were the units shipped from Germany
Answer - By air freight in sealed boxes heavily protected in polyeurothene wrapping (not shrink wrap, but heavier).
