So, I am staying down here in Schaumburg during the week and working at Motorola. I come back up north on the weekends. I have 3 nice LFS withing spitting distance of my hotel. I have seen so many fish that before I had only seen in books. Tons of corals, I am just in overload. Not to mention that if I drive over 5 miles away there are tons more I can still explore. :eek2:

Anyway, let me know if there is anything you guys want. I am bringing my cube down here and putting some hallides on it so that I can bring corals back and forth. I am bringing an orange shoulder tang home tomorrow. Want a moorish idol...a big sohal..a big naso with streamers...there are so many more that we just can't find in the fox valley.

The rest of ****cago sucks though, expecially the traffic and the tollways.

Let me know if you need something.

You are correct, they have some great stores all over down there. I don't even bother going to the stores here in Wisconsin anymore for livestock, they just don't compare and that's a real shame.
I asked if I could take some pics at some of the stores to show others.
Here is one of the huge display tank at Sea Shor.

Here are a couple from Ocean's Floor.

Thats their 950 gallon fish only tank, the thing is a monster! I would guess that the top of the tank is 7 to 8 foot high.

This is their SPS display tank. They had a ton of corals at Ocean's Floor and they looked great.

If you ever have the chance or the time to make the trip down there to any of the stores you will be glad you did. I was very impressed.

Wow, I could have never imagined a LFS could be so nice!

I lived in Schaumburg for about a year when I was going to College in Addison Il. Course this was nearly 14 years ago! Nice area back then.

What is an LMR Engineer?

LMR stands for Land Mobile Radio. LMR are the radio systems used by public saftey, military, etc. Think walkie talkie only much more advanced. They are closer to cell phones really.

you should see the stores in south florida when i was on vacationi went to a couple and wow!!!i guess thats what we get for living in the frozen tundra! we still have coral boy farms! i wonder if he would want to host a meeting again?i am sure he would make some sales? has anyone talked with him lately?

I went to a LFS in the Old Town downtown Chicago, nice place healthy looking tanks, but prices were high, I want to take another trip to Coral Boy Farms, someone give him a call and set something up for a meet !

That was where I was trying to get a meeting put together for the Nov. meeting but then my work schedule went crazy. I had talked to Kevin back in Sept. about letting me host a meeting at his place because I live so far from all of you. I would bring along the food and drink and we could use his place to have the meeting, he was very positive about it.
I could call him again and try to set something up for Feb.

Just talked to him this week. He is getting me some mexican turbos. So I know he has a fresh order coming in this week.

I go home to Chicago about two to three times a month, and I hit about 3-5 spots every time. Old town and Living Sea are the most expensive. Living sea has a midnight sale once or twice a year that just cannot be missed though. There are a few really good priced places. Some are really just blocks away from each other. I will drop a line when I go again and see if anyone would like anything.
