A cupple days ago one of my anemones died during the night and killed alot of the other creatures in my tank, shrimp, starfish, feather duster, one of the clowns, and now the other anemone isn't looking so great....

I always run carbon. I guess I'll be taking the other one out then, thanks. The BTA wasn't big, but it wasn't small, it died after splitting a month ago, and it slowly loss all color, I thought I could save it....

He said the anemone died and that he took it out.
Whoa! I think we need to take things a bit slower before we tell the poster to get the second anemone out. All K&C said was the second anemone "isn't looking so great." That doesn't equate to "get it out immediately" to me.
First, any idea how the first anemone died? If it got pureed in a powerhead it could cause all those other deaths, and/or if your water circulation was marginal a nighttime die-off and decay/bacterial bloom might cause an oxygen event that killed other critters.
Second, what do you mean when you say the second anemone doesn't look "great." Do you have any pictures? Can you describe what it looks like? Also, what type of system is it in (size, filtration, lighting, other inhabitants, etc)?

Originally he had two anemones. One died. The other wasn't looking so great. I am assuming KC took out the dead one but I think there was confusion between KC and some of the other posters. When they said
I think they meant the dead anemone not the other anemone. Maybe they assumed that the dead anemone was still in the tank. Thats how I interpretted it.

Okay, yes there was two, I bought an anemone around 5 months ago and around a month and a half ago it split into two. Up untill that point the anemone looked great, nice color, very full and never moved from the rock I put it on. After the split the one side of the anemone that stayed still as the other side pulled away started to loose color and look very ill. the one that pulled away looked great, then the one that looked ill started moving and ended up right beside the healthy one. It slowly became bleached to the point where you could see right through it. When it died the other one started to bleach. I never did take it out because it's starting to bounce back and is looking better, so are all my fish.

As long as you took the dead one out and left the other one in.
