In the last 4 days, I've lost the following:
2 fat and eating moorish idols
1 harlequin tusk
Bluejaw trigger pair
1 carpenter wrasse
1 red headed Solon wrasse
2 golden rhomboids

SG:
1.025

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: unsure. I ran out of test strips.

All I've done so far is a 30g WC and change out carbon.

Can you provide more details, i.e., tank size, how long it's been up and running, more water quality parameters, dosing anything, treatments, RODI water or are you using tap water, etc. This would help us help you better. Thanks.
Jim

are you new to the hobby? Reason I ask is wondering why someone new to the hobby would try such a beautiful, difficult to keep fish such as the Moorish Idols. What size tank?

No not new. I've been in the hobby about a year. .

Tank size 68 x 32 x 22
Cal 440
Mag 1380
Rodi for ato
30g water changes every 2 weeks

Tank is been up for about 6 months, had to drain tank recently due to an overflow leak. Tank was empty for about 5 days during the repair. All my fish, coral and rocks were set in 2 separate pools-1 for fish, other for corals.

I run an aquamaxx cones co3 skimmer. Two reactors one for carbon and another for rowaphos.

This could be a substance leached in the tank, or even electricity leaking in the tank.
Fish dying this way when params look ok, is pretty weird.
A last chance diagnose would be to check if any pumps or equipment could be shocking the fish. Would also get a poly filter to see if anything has contaminated your tank.

Have you ever treated the tank or the rocks with any copper in the past?

Who did the repairs to the tank? Are you sure all materials used were fish safe? What brand and type of silicone was used?

To answer everyone :

Symptoms: I didn't really notice anything. All fish were eating well and swimming about. I wake up the following morning and find some dead on sand, or stuck to my mp40

Repair: myself. However the tank is acrylic, so I used weldon.

Equipment : I recently found my gyre had a cracked wire, I presume that was cause. Other than that, everything else is inside sump ( return, skimmer, 1 separate pump for reactors) I'll double check those later today.

Nems: I only had BTAs. I don't know if they stung them

Ok. I'm fairly certain my tank has brooklynella. Based on what I've read, the brook descriptions seem to fit what happened with my fish.
