Oil Drilling near FL coast lines!

What is more important? Trying to preserve our coral reefs, ecosystems or lessening our dependance on oil producing countries that hold us politically hostage in times of crisis like the Mid 70's oil boycott of the West by Saudi Arabia and the likes?

"it is time for liberals to stand up for the mess they have created."

HAHAHAHAHAHA! That's one of the best things I've heard in a long time!

Of course, you are missing the point here... us "liberals" don't want oil drilling, we don't want environmental disasters, we don't want our coral reefs dying from the inevitable spill, we don't want people drilling in wildlife preserves like Alaska... get the common thread here? We dont want OIL.

Get with the program, the end of oil is beginning. And who do you think is responsible? So I'd like to think of it as us "Liberals are starting to see RESULTS from the 'mess' we've created...".

We can do both, my friend. Alternative, renewable fuels (read: NOT OIL) = less Co2 = less ocean warming = giving our PLANET a chance.

the transition takes time, and by throttling the US refinery market, it just makes us more dependant on outside sources until the time where we can safely transition to a more viable energy source. But if you want to buy the King of Saudi Arabia a new mercedes, be my guest, or if you want to buy the exec of British Petroleum a new Gulfstream 6 or whatever they are up to, go ahead. We must control our oil market to wean ourselves off of it.

Thread Closed....for obvious reasons. Our rules are clear, we do not allow political or religious discussions. If you don't like that, sorry, have your discussion on another forum of your choice.
