no, just your wife.

You better be careful or I'll tell her where you live! :eek2: Plus...she likes it like that. :D

Thanks for the link Barry. Very interesting. I have not had problems with my zoanthids (yet) but I am going to look into that more. I guess I would have to dose what, about 20,000 mg 2x/day?

Sherman and I did some planning for the partial drain of my tank today, and I discovered that my LiterMeter wasn't dosing and hadn't for at least a couple of days or more. My alk is down to about 6.5 ppm and pH has been holding at just below 8.0. I dosed some baked baking soda and fixed the LiterMeter, so hopefully it will get back in line. I found out about the alk when I took a sample to send out to a lab, and did my own battery of tests.

As you read through, it actually seems to be helping other critters too.

This is the dosing directions:
http://www.athiel.com/lib2/pguide/vitami1.html

If you were using it prophylacticly, you'd only need about 5 gm/day

Somedays it just sucks being you! :D

I should have known something was wrong but it is so hard for me to put things together. Low sump + low pH = no kalk top off... right?

Interesting instructions...I am going to need a lot of Vit C! (like 30,000 mg/day... I see your idea on the lateral line/HHD disease, and I will try this. Thanks!

aaah...I see. That's not a bad idea. The clams are back in the display because I have corals in the QT right now for at least a couple more weeks, but after that I certainly can experiment with a clam and see what happens. Maybe trap the Sailfin and QT it too.

Just to clarify, "dosed" = adding a hlf gallon of alk supplement at once! I nearly crapped my pants even though I have watched him do it before. :eek1:
