OK, i need some more opinions on this one...

I origianally was told to get 3 maxijets and a wavemaker, well, i have someone who i am gonig to buya wavemaker and maxijets from, but i havent yet, they are olding them for me.....now in the meantime, i have come across several people with 75 gallon tanks that have used maxijets with MODS and they say that it is WWWAAAYYY too much flow for in their tanks, i dont wnat too much flow, i want to make sure i am doing everything right with this tank...Is getting modded maxijets in my tank to much? What GPH do you reccomend and how many powerheads? please help me out, i am trying to be patienw tih my purchases so i can get the best deal and the best product, and if i need to look elsewhere for another product, that is fine, but i need to know. I know that the MEDIUM MOD puts out 1200 gph, and the high puts out 2400gph, and the regular MJ puts out 295gph. What should i do???
 
I would go with two of the "medium mods" if I were you. Puts your tank at 2400 gph, which is hardly too much flow for a 75g
 
The mods they got were probably the ones made locally and are very high flow...I use one modded and two unmodded in my 55G and the modded one is the high flow. Three medium modded mj's should do great, two with/one without should do fine also.

If you end up buying from mjmods, I might throw in with you as I need some mods also...maybe they can do a price break if we purchase enough, if other people neede some too.

You either buy 4, or then it skips to over 25 MODS....
 
what brand wave maker are you getting? it is the power strip with 3 cycling outlets and 3 standard outlets right?

the LFS here had some in a discount bucket, new in box. i was going to see if you were still looking and i can find out how much they are "discounted". But i'm on the coast, but do work in orlando.
 
Yes please, i would be paying $30 for the one i am looking at, and anything less would be better, thank you. I wish my LFS had a discount bucket...hahaha
 
I have two like the ones on the picture they do put more flow but it's not wide those mods will work good on a wave maker the MJs don't restart in the same direction with those mods, so shoots water in two different directions every time it restarts. Hope it makes sense :) Kind of have too look where the water goes in both directions and don't aim it straight at the corals.
 
I would be down for the nedium flow ones...I'm not keeping an all-SPS tank and the high flow ones are too much for my softies...If you're keeping softies and/or LPS, the medium flows would be perfect.
 
SO would you want to go i on it? it would have to wait a little bit, but id be game, unless i found some really chep ones elsewhere, i would tell you about it if i find any.
 
I checked and there is a two deal, a four deal, and a more than 25 deal, so unless you are getting a crap load of mods, we wiould need to get mroe than one multi-pack...lol..... If you need your mods soon , like in the next week or so, i cant get the money for it now, but if you have to order, i could pay you back. Otherwise, three weeks or so should be great for me, maybe sooner.
 
seth i would like to see the results when your done with the mod. ive seen so many on the used forum stating too much flow.

im interested to see if these are different. im also curious what your planning to keep.
i know my nano tunzes have the magnet as well on them how were you going to mount them?
 
I was goign to mounth tem with the suction cups...(???).... and i actually just earlier modded my own MJ, not with the mod, but i will get two more with the actual MODS, but this actually improved my flow rate dramatically, id say by about 100gph, just by feel. IDK, i will post pics later tonight, but it was cool
