i purchased 2 V2 photon Reeef Breeder LED's for my tank. They are maybe 44" long by 9" wide so on Sean's reccomendation I bought 2. Once you figure out the remote controll light programming they are really easy to use. Going from Halides to LED's for the first time the thing I noticed the most was reduced heat, noise ( no fan), the 6 different colored lights, and how much you can manipulate the colors. I only have them running at about 50% of capacity as I don't want to bleach the corals. I will take it up slowly. Too early to tell by coral growth, but they all seem to grow pretty well under the LED's. It's also worthy to mention i will save over $200 a year on new bulbs. Which would pay for both fixtures in about 5 years. I really hope they grow as well as Halides.

Go easy with your white channel. My understanding is that there is a tendency for LEDs to roast corals with too much white. I wouldn't run white more than 30% for the first couple months until I was confident the transition from MH to LED was going well.

Also glad to hear you're liking them.

I've had them for a couple months and I'm still at about 50%. i find if you run the whites too high or the other colors high enough it white washes the tank out. I am definately going slow. There are actually 6 channels or colors of lights with only one being white.

The V2 Photons must be different if i ran the blues and purples at 70 and whites at 2 it would be moon lighting mode all the time. I have the whites at 30 and the rest at about 40 right now and that is only about 5-6 hours per day. You have to program the light intensity by the hour or half hour in custom mode. I chose hourly or i would be spending too much time adjusting them. it's literallyclicking through each hour and adjusting the 6 channels on each. it's great that you can ecactly dial in the lights, but it's time consuming

Sean I hear you! I'm working my way up. I will have to see what it looks like with that much white light. So far it seems to look better with the white lights a little dimmer than the other 5 colors.

Yeah Bob the Superlux is an older budget model but perfect for my nano tank. I used to run my whites at 30 and up to as high as 45 but started to turn them down little by little to try and mimic the look of someone else's tank that I liked, he was running T5's. Now I get more color pop and growth is still about the same, slow lol.

Grant I know right, I like staring at my tank after the whites go off, everything is super flourencent!

Also keep in mind lots of his stuff is geared at propagation too. High white lights, 6500k halides etc.
