Fish Freak
Well I figure I cant be the only one with a runt in the fish family.

The third fish I bought for my current build was my Bellus Angel. She was only 2" when I bought her back in October and guess what, she is still only 2". Hasn't grown a bit. She picks on the rocks all day, eat pellets and Rods and hasn't gained a ounce while most my other fish have probably doubled in size.

So who is your runt?

My African Flameback Angel (. C. acanthops) is my smallest fish. But its doubled in size in less than 4 months.
However, I don't think I want it getting much bigger than 3 inches. Its a firecracker in temperment. It would be a holy terror if it got big!

My Powder Blue tang. 4.5 years, and I don't think it's grown at all. Maybe 1/2"...

Ditto on a semilavartus - always wondered why it grew so slowly, 2" to 4" long in 13 years.

Hi Bill,

It's great to see fish live that long in a enclosed environment and you've done a great job. Have you noticed much change to your butterfly over the years? Mine used to be more aggressive especially during feeding time but as it gets older I noticed it's not as aggressive and can even be pushed around by smaller angels than its size (blueline or meredithi).

I had six of various sizes that never grew more than an inch or so from the day I bought them in 6 years. There must be something that's missing from their diet in captivity.
