Older Osmolator

Good morning,

I have two inquires I hope I would be able to receive some help with.

After having to make the hard decision to downgrade to a small more manageable tank due to health reasons we broke down my old one. Removing all parts from it including my Osmolator. After reinstalling it in my new tank it seems to want to fill past the optical switch until it hits the high water float. I cleaned the eye before placing it in the new tank with soap and water. Is there anything else I might try before purchasing a new one?

Secondly. My new tank happens to be a Innovative Marine 25 Gallon Lagoon. It has a small back compartment so my skimmer options are limited. When I owned a Redsea Max 130 I used a Tunze 9002 skimmer and I loved it. I was looking to use another one since I had such good results before but I am not sure it will fit in such a small space. Would you have any input on this?

Thank you,

Jeff

Update: I have given the sensor another soap water bath in addition to a vinegar bath as well. This seems to have resolved my problem. Thank you.

You might also need to turn down the pump speed or restrict the tubing. The assimilators made since 2012 have a pump speed adjustment inside, before that a drip irrigation valve added to the end of the hose to restrict the flow can do the same thing.

I was thinking about trying this. It overfilled again last night. The alarm was going off for awhile before i heard it. It used to be on my 90 gallon and never had a issue and not that it is on my 25 gallon nano it is non stop problem.

Keep me posted, I see auto correct turned Osmolator into Assimilator, LOL.

Thank you Roger,

I turned down the flow and it seems to be doing fine right now. I have not seen it kick on yet since initially setting it up. I did notice a few minutes ago something odd going on. The green light was flashing randomly. It is solid now but this if the first time i have seen this happen. Very odd.

That can be normal if it was at the threshold, for example the surface is turbulent and in a dip it was about to switch the pump on and the water again registered as full when the dip passed.

Whew okay. I was worried there for a moment. The ATO worked all night without issue. I believe after the adjustments you advised the issue i was having is now resolved. I appreciate all the help you have given me. Thanks again Roger.
