Older wavebox issues

Ok I picked up a older wb. It's at least 2 years old. Worked fine for about 4 days. Had it off at night with the photo sensor. Today I come home and the control box has no lights on it and the grey box you plug everything into is smokin hot. So I unplug it for a few minutes and it cools off and then the controller is flashing like it's turning the pump on and off but it isn't. The hockey puck looking thing is smokin hot also. How would I go about diagnosing what parts are bad? I bought it used and the guy had another one and said to bring it back and he'd give me that one. What would make it so hot. The controller was not hot at all. I tried to unplug the photo sensor and replug it in with no success. Thanks in advanced.

The driver box has a short and is overloading the power supply, to diagnose it any further I would have to get it back, but typically you would need a new driver and power supply and these parts are no longer made, though I have a limited stock of working used parts.
