Oldude's Little Reef on the Prairie

I have seen a few of these large flatworms in my tanks over the years and from what I found on the web they are saying they are not reef safe and eat snails, etc.

First glance I was like "What's for lunch?". After further review I said, " That's not lunch". Glad you caught those guys. They look pretty big. Hope there's not anymore in your tank.

That is actually a single flatworm - they get a couple of inches long. Very slippery slimy critters.

Can you send a link of info about that flatworm have seen it myself a couple of times too, do you know scientific name?

This is the link I found and what it says below. Not much info available that I can find.

Polyclad Flatworm "“ Not Reef Safe

This is a very large, very predatory flatworm known to feed on snails and sometimes mollusks. I had several of these come in on a coral, and it took about every chemical in my arsenal to kill them. Once they make it in to the aquarium, they're nearly impossible to remove.

Radical reef you have Greg! I went through and read your entire old build thread, it is just crazy how many ups and downs this setup has been through. One thing is for sure, your aquarium is a huge inspiration to many, thanks for documenting everything in these build threads so well and keep up the great work!

I have a question for you, what are you running for vortechs? Are you running two mp40's and two mp60's? I read that you shut down your closed loop and added an mp60, and I am thinking about taking the same route.

Great pics! Nice to see everything doing so well.

Thanks Dave.

Looks great Greg!
Thank you

Wow Greg, those FTS are sweet, " the sps ridge"
The sps ridge - I like that, thanks.

Thank you for your kind remarks & thanks for taking the time to read that thread - that shows some real commitment. :D I am running 5 x MP40 & 3 x MP60's. I don't miss my closed loop - nice to have all that extra plumbing gone and no Hammerhead pump = less noise.

BRAVO!!!

Thank you - your tank is a beauty.

Awesome Greg...
Thanks :smurf:

Stunned as always to see this setup.

Hey Wayne thanks again - appreciate your stopping by for a look.

:inlove:You pulled my eyes out greg!!!
That side pic if you told me that it's from a real reef i'd believe you!
Olivaceous looks great!
I can only imagine how this tank will look like when the corals grow really really big:idea:

Will stay here for at least 20 minutes to stare at these pics!
Thanks for sharing!
