Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

I love how you leveled it. That was a great method, with very little to be concerned about.

The tile looks great too.

Greg it's looking great. With your crazy ability to make SPS grow out in unbelievable ways, this tank should pretty amazing to see before long.

Thanks you guys. Today I got started on some fresh aqua scape and drilled and zip-tied some rock. I will now need to pull rock from my display to go further.
Screwed up on the overflow plumbing, so had to fix that. That emergency standpipe was inline with the drain to the sump so it was very loud, that is now fixed. I also discovered that I need a check valve on the return line from the hammerhead in the closed loop as the water drains through the pipes back to the overflow and would over fill the sump if the pump failed so that is getting fixed this week. If I wasn't there to catch it there would be a huge flood during a power outage the way it is now. This is a top priority.
I was able to score some aquamedic light hangers with the quick release & lock so I now have enough for all the fixtures so I am pleased with that. I will be installing them ASAP.
Pix to follow soon.
Picked up a sea hare to consume some of the algae bloom I am experiencing.........I guess some tank cycling is inevitable but parameters are good. I am still mixing the two systems water on a regular basis so things are fairly stable.

No I didn't make it I bought it locally a few years ago as a set with some 7" socks. It works really well.

Unfortunately I had some issues with my camera and computer. I accidently deleted the pictures I took of the rock being zip tied together and a few others things I did during the final set up.
Anyway the lights are up, skimmer inline (both of these are done in a temporary fashion until I move my 130 gallon to its new spot). Rock is in, corals are in, fish are in. I just need to finish the sandbed and the new tank is pretty much done (inside). Once I move the other tanks around I can build the room and finish the project. Before someome else says this:

I'll beat you to it. Pix to follow.
I am having problems with my Vortech's. I tried to set them to sync together and apparently screwed it up and now can't get them to reset. Any help would be appreciated. I had to stick some tunzes and seios in the tank until I sort this out.

There is a way to reset them. It's been forever since I had to, but I believe you just press and hold both buttons for 3 seconds in a row, and it will reset them to factory specs.

Odds are, all that information is on the Ecotech site, and probably in their forum here on RC as well.

Here are some pictures of the lights. MH are HQI 4x 250 watt & 2x 150 watt. T5's are a the 48" 6 bulb Tek lights with DIY cooling fans. ( ballast location is temporary until other tanks are moved)
The bulbs in each fixture are as follows:
2x reef blue, 2x 10K, 1 fiji purple & 1 KZ new generation.

Skimmer is a Euro-Reef RC500. This is a temporary installation until I get the other tanks moved and then it will be properly mounted.

This is in-wall right?
I believe it will be in wall... wall it will be in to come ;)

Chrisrush - Better hand out shades to your visitors, that's a lot of light.
 I just replaced my 150's and the pendent 250 so all bulbs are less than a month old.

Yes, the walls can go up after I move my old tank out of the way. I am hoping to get it moved this weekend.

Ok I snapped a few tank shots today, please excuse all the powerheads they are temporary & I'm not quite done with the sand installation. I also do have the blue acrylic for the overflow to hide the plumbibg but need to cut it down a few inches before I put it in place. Unfortunately the pictures don't show the canyon, caves and the plethera of swim throughs very well but hopefully you can still get the idea. There are a lot of corals that had been overgrown and shaded so there is everything from white outs to brown out. There was also some colour loss with the move but I am hoping it comes back quickly. Sorry for the poor picture quality, as you can see I tried to fix them with photoshop, new tank-new white balance issues.
