Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

I plan to move a few inhabitants around when the new tank is ready to go. In my softy tank I have several fish that will be transfered and several fish in my present display that will stay where they are and live in the old display which will be the new soft coral tank. I have a few clam killers that will not make the move including my regal tang & flame angel. Others not being transferred are my niger trigger, scooter blenny & 3 damsels. I plan to move my false percula pair to that tank as well. I am moving the following from my existing set up:
yellow tang
chevron tang
sailfin tang
blonde naso tang
black & white ocelaris pair
royal gramma
3x chromis
blood red hawkfish
2x watchman gobies(1 yellow, 1 grey/blue)
coral beauty
2xmandarin dragonette
(from my softy tank) :
mystery wrasse
fairy wrasse
radiant wrasse
2x bangai cardinals
yellow clown goby
flame angel(the nice one)
blue stripe pipe fish
long nose hawkfish
orchid dottyback
marine betta
2x firefish gobies
2x skunk cleaner shrimp
fire shrimp
2x peppermint shrimp
New fish I plan to add:
purple tang
5x regal tangs
11x antheas
7x chromis
perhap a few more dwarf angels
As many clams as I can afford.
Unfortunately the moorish idol I had didn't make it. It was eating for a while but ended up going on a hunger strike.
Probably seems like quite a bit but keep in mind the system will have a water capacity of approximately 674 gallons once everything is plumbed together.
I am contemplating placing an eggcrate cover over the top to hopefully keep evryone in the tank.

What Zeo products do you use?

Thanks very much, unfortunately it wasn't on RC. Anyway for zeo products I use:
sp, kb, bb, aa, ms, etc.

Finally got the stand assembled tonight. Now it's in place the tank can be built on top of it, the fish room can get started and I can get ready to start moving tanks. I need to move my record collection out of the way as well the mess where I have set up a temp work area for frags and such. This project is a long slow process.

Ok, here's one I seldom photograph because it's in a wierd spot to take pictures of. It was failing a while back but is now doing great. This isn't the colony but the "insurance frag" I cut in the spring. (blue magoo)

What are the corals in the third and fourth photos? Both very nice as well... you have the eye candy for sure

Thanks Marc. The first picture is acropora batunai. Here is a shot of the colony although in the light of morning I notice the focus is out a bit so I'll try to get a better picture later.

Awesome looking corals...be careful before introducing into your display..I think you have red bugs, I'm sure you know it's not a huge issue, just wanna keep them in check amd the fix is super easy.

Your tank always blows my mind! I wish mine was as full. I'm pumped to hear that you are upgrading to a 400. Take it from me, but if you can go bigger. My 400 is too small for what I would like to see. If you have the room go for a 10 foot long by 4 foot deep 30 inch high tank. Great size.

Yes I neglected to do a dip on a new piece a while ago and paid for it. It is under control now.

I wish I had the room to do that but this is as big as I can go.

I second, third, forth and infinity that!

Greg, I haven't read through your whole thread due to time constraints, but I personally would like to discourage you from having a closed loop. I have one on my tank that is ran with a dart and internal penductors. I would discourage it for a couple of reasons

-real estate issues
-energy consumption/cost
-unsightly penductors
-bulk head failure risk

I think that you could get the flow that you would like if you just added more vortecs or Tunze deco rocks if thats what you wanted. Additionally, as you know, you can move the vortecs around.
