olympus stylus 1030

Has anybody used this camera ? Seems like it takes great pictures even underwater. If not what other cameras are good. Looking to upgrade.

I just got this one... Olympus Stylus 790 - good underwater to 10feet - I haven't had the guts to stick it in the tank yet...

I have an olympus stylus 820 I bought my wife for Xmas one year, it is not a good camera. Anything taken outside with a lot of light is ok, but anything inside is grainy and has lots of noise. Even in a well lit room with a flash the images are sub par. Just my opinion, but I wont by another Olympus.

Go ahead stick it in lol. I read other post as long as you rinse it off it should be fine. May I be noisy and ask how much you paid and where you bought it.

Best buy - it was their display and I got it for $249.

That's funny ncox38 - I've only used Olympus Stylus cameras since they came out in 2002 (the Stylus is their all weather camera line). I've went through a number of models and have always been happy. I just love that I know I can get them wet and not worry about it. I'm a bit of a clutz!

As for sticking it in the tank Bill - I will... I just haven't yet. The pictures on that thread do look great! I'll say that. I don't know what I have that would be that cool to take underwater pictures of.

Kim you might as well find out if it works under water while the warranty is good. If you do send me a picture Im seriously going to get one I think. If I get one I might even learn how to post a picture

I use a Olympus Stylus 800 . Didn't like it until I started playing with the F stop moved it up to F8 and works great now .

Wow - John - all of your great shots are with that camera? Ok - I need to play with more of my settings... I use the underwater macro setting for most of my shots.

Yes and outside of the tank too . I have never put my camera in the water . Adjust your F stop up to at least F8 and use a tripod . No flash and in micro mode . You should do just fine .

Am I wrong but arent you supose to use the underwater setting only when the camera is under water. Kim the pictures I seen you take look really good.
