I can't seem to get in contact with greg65. His omegareef.com website is down. I need to get my stand built pretty soon. So firstly, anyone know how I can get in contact with him?

Also, any other stand makers locally?

Thanks!!!

If you can't get hold of greg65 there is another guy who makes stands for aquarium. He just made one for natedogg470. I'll pm you his info.

Try PMing him?? :)

I just picked up a skimmer from him yesterday so I know he's alive :)

got yourself a bubble king ?

hahahah I wish I got a bubble king for the price I paid, no I got that other skimmer he was selling, I dont know why he was using it I think he mentioned it was for a temporary tank or something. It's a turbo-educator (kent) w/ sedra pump.

I still can't find him.

I got a tip from xinumaster who got the info from to-arbitrate about this place: ByritePet.com

Anyone ever get a stand made by them before? Is it high quality? He quoted me about half the price of what greg at omegareef was charging me, leading me to believe it might not be the best?

Any other places!?

THanks!

I talked to byritepet, Frank, about building me a stand for the possible 120 tank and his prices were just un-believable. BTW, bitirepet is in Hayward.

yes I've been talking to frank, and the price was definately very low. Did you ever go through with the plan, or did you find someone else? Hayward isn't too far from me, I can pickup with my truck.

thanks!

I don't have the tank yet. WIfe want's to spend money on upgrading our floor at home to hard wood or pergo. After that's done, I'll go get the tank - WIFE, kids, and house comes 1st before the fish - per wife's word.

Once, I've gotten the tank or a week before I get the tank, I'll talk to Frank again and go ahead and have him build me the stand and canopy.

Hi koden, I knew a bar member who has a tank stand and canopy made by frank. His rc is natedogg470. To-arbitrate also knew him. PM him maybe we can ask he to post pictures of his tank.

I'm so glad I have Pergo under my tank. I've sloshed so much saltwater, kalk and goodness knows what else on my floor and it's unmarked...

The other day I pulled my sump out and pulled out the base of the stand to replace it; I was fearful that underneath would be all nasty as water often gets under the stand. However, it was unmarked and perfect.

So be glad that the floor change comes first and go with pergo where your tank is going.

Koden- i'm also interested in getting a stand built. Can you update with what you find out?

I'll most likely have the stand made by him. I lost contact with him for two days now. I think my stand plans scare people? It's so simple though...

I'll let you guy sknow how it turns out.

Anyways, I was about to post a thread asking other reefers if they have pergo floors and how are they so far. I'm glad you brought that up.

I've heard that the hard wood floors were not as forgiving as pergo floors.

We have new bamboo floors. It comes prefinished, and I installed them myself, it's easy. Check out lumber liguidator in Emeryville. They have great prices.

Pergo flooring will warp real bad if you dump water on it. It't the reason why we stopped using it in our apartments for upgrades. For those that want a wook-like vinyl floor covering. There is a wood-like vinyl that is available (which we use in the kitchens).

It's difficult to tell unless you point it out.

How much they charge per sqft? I looked at the one at costco and i've been told it is not as good quality (?). I am looking to upgrade my hardwood.

Thanks.

Again I'm on the hunt for a stand builder.

I talked to greg finally, but for some reason he declined to work on my stand. He told me it was too small of a project, even after working with me on the plans and giving me a rough estimate. He asked me for a sketch, and I made a CAD diagram into a jpeg for him. But he never answered my last PM which was 2 weeks ago about why he rejected my project all of a sudden.

Is a $500+- stand too small of a project? I was hoping to go with him, because I've seen pictures and gotten a lot of recommendations to go to him. I did get a quote for $275 from someone in hayward, but definately I want a quality stand. Reason I started shopping around is because I couldn't get a hold of him.

Is it usual for him to drop a project all of a sudden? Many people spoke highly of him, but he sort of turned a cold shoulder to me when he replied to me after I tried looking for him? I'm not accusing him of anything, just confused. He seemed like a nice guy, maybe just super busy now.

I'm not one to beg someone to do anything, so I'll keep looking around. I talked to frank at byritepet.com, but not sure about the quality of his stands. If someone lives in the hayward area and can stop by sometime this week to assess his work for me, please let me know! If you can snap a couple shots too, that'd be great. I'll definately frag you something neat when I get my corals grown out =) I can't make it down to hayward during their business hours, since I work all week and they're closed Sundays (saturdays I'm busy all day too). Thanks!!!

I'm also thinking of just going to local furniture stores near my house that build custom furniture, and see what they can do for me here too.

Last resort is to go get a router table, some work bench, some saws, a flood light, and a huge golf umbrella, and make the stand after work every night =P I don't have room inside the house, so it'll all have to be outdoors after work. Sucks because I usually can't get home until 11pm.

Last piece of the puzzle =) Any suggestions would be awesome!

Thanks =)
