OMG it's godzilla!!! no wait, it's just my new stand/canopy

Yeah i do remember you telling me that james, i must've just missed that some how. Not a big deal tho, an easy fix :) I think im gona add a second drain pipe to the left chamber anyway just incase the sock get clogged.

But thanks for pointing that out poolkeeper.

The one in the photo above will work correctly, That is what i was talking about by raising them up. And you can see how much lower the top of those are! 10-4

if you can get the silicone loose, just remount them. you said they were about 1" from the top?? just take em off & raise them up to the top & that will leave 1" flow out the bottom & bubbles won't be able to get over the top.....unless you start making heavy foam LOL

btw....skinning didn't get started yesterday :(

got side-tracked doing the odds & ends i need to finish before skinning that i forgot i needed to complete.

hopefully i get the last of those done & i might get to the skinning today
:D

updates:

got both of the containers to the size i wanted.i built the base plate in the rear & i also built the shelf for the rdsb bucket to sit up above the sump so it gravity-feeds back into it. the shelf also makes room for the closed-loop pump below. i ran bolts up thru the base plate & countersunk the holes for the nut to sit flush that locks the bolt in place. the pump sits onto the bolts & then will get a washer, lock-washer & nut to tighten it down. i also applied some heavy-duty felt to the pump's base to keep vibrations down. the pvc seen in the pics is where i will run my extension cords mentioned earlier from the light drawer down to the electrical hub in the side door

i didn't like the way the front flip-up door sat when down & it was pretty hard to reach when it was flipped up, so i replaced the right-angle brackets w/ hinges so now the front flips up & hinges flat when opened. it also lays flatter when closed. i think this will be much easier to work as far as opening & closing & will look better as well

i decided to add a pair of 120mm fans at the back to help blow air up the rear of the canopy. there is a 6" wide opening in the top, but with the drawer slide & the shelf i built over it, i thought they would help create an upward flow to help the hot air move on up & out the top. they will sit below the board, & blow thru the board. i think this will help keep salt off them since they are behind the tank & below where the evap salt air would be. lastly, there are pics of my electrical hub.

got the last of my odds & ends done today.....skinning starts tomorrow :D

(2) 120mm fans on each side.

i remade my front support board thicker so i could drill holes in it to hold water testing testubes :D

this is the shelf for odds & ends storage i made for the sump area. the LED growlight panel i bought will be mounted on the bottom of it. you can see the relation of it to the backside of the electrical box on the right side of the sump area & the relation as to where the skimmer fits in.....still need to do my sump tank baffles

i had purchased some trim molding to go around the top, but after sitting one piece of on there to see how it looked, i decided it would look better either EVERY edge trimmed or NO EDGES trimmed....so i think i've decided on the no edges trimmed

i also purchased some black chrome door knobs & am conflicted on whether it should put them or not......

thoughts??? suggestions???

I would go with 2 doors, that way you don't have to plan for as much space for the doors to swing open, or potentially 2 doors that meet at that vertical stud, that way it's the best of both worlds (assuming you prefer the aesthetics of the single door)

i think i like the idea of 2 doors that meet (like the front doors), but give the appearance of 1 door :)

funtional & asthetic at the same time
