Beautiful reef!!! And now to go off topic, what do you have going on in the tank behind the last pic? Looks like some sort of semi-aquatic/aquatic herp setup. Just curious.
Behind the reef is a 12 pound red eared slider raised from a dime store baby bout 15 years old. Lives in my old coral tank under a 175 watt halide and some nice sand. She lays eggs so we know she is a girl.
I set the camera up in macro mode with the self timer on with the camera on a tripod. I use macro mode from 5 of 6 feet away and get good focus. Also use macro mode up close. I seldom hand shoot as i use long exposures for the most part. Right now i have the color balance set to sunlight i think but if you are having problems getting color correct then place a white coffee filter over your lens. Point the camera at the tank with bleached filter over the lens and hit reset color balance. The camera will see the blue tint or yellow tint from your lights through the filter and adjust tthe color balance to see the filter as white. Its amazing and it works . It is especially effective if you are trying to photograph under 20 K radiums.
Hope this helps, thanks for all the positive feedback.
Not sure if this was directed to me ? However yes, I am a forum hussy and regularly post images of me tank. Over the years i have posted several threads on this tank. Havent done the "build" thread yet though so....
This isnt for you Gary, but for those that dont know how, If you click on a users name and then follow the link "view public profile" and "show all statistics" you can view all threads started by that person. If you are so inclined there are more images of this tank than anyone would care to look at that can be found from that location.
