hello roger
i just bought a 6045 from joe at fishworld(i was employed there for almost 21 years)
i have a question, i have read on this site that the 6045 can be put on a wavemaker if the on off is set at least to 15 minutes. my question is this: when the pump starts,it goes in a backward rotation, i realize that this is from it being an ac device, but does the 6045 supposed to have a stopper in it to prevent this? ans if not what can i do to make it work correctly? the pump is very well made and small but i don't relish the idea of it going from great pump to quisinart.

Thanks

It has a stopper, it still does take some time to right the direction. This time will be shortened after some wear in occurs. If you look at the crosshatch at the front from the inside, you will see one side has a down curved tab that acts as a stop. Use the screen to prevent small animals from being sucked in and run it continuosuly for a while before attempting use on a timer. Also, try to avoid extreme upward angles as they make it harder for the pump to correct rotation.

cool, i will try that, i have it running continuosuly right now and it more of a downward angle. how long should i run it before putting it on a timer?
thanks for the quick response
