anyone seen this kind of thing before?

Here it is over the past month or so (lower down the page = older)

The two things that come to mind:

1) this is new growth, which if the other arms all grew in someone else's setup, and this is the first new arm of completely new growth in your tank, it may be a different color. I have seen this with a few of my corals.
2) this arm has a different environment that gives it the different color, whether it be more/less flow than other arms, shaded light right there, specific light combination right there, etc.

Cool to see though!

I've only had it for a few weeks so I don't think it's a new arm. It's only a few mms away so I wouldn't think the flow or light is that different. I'll take a pic of the setup too.

Looks to me like it had a dead patch on it and a pocillopora polyp attached and is growing. Just a guess, but the green sure looks like a poci. It might also be a pink and green poci adjusting to new lighting.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but it looks as though the new growth is pink - eventually this might become a green with pink-tip Pocillopora.

Did you receive it like this? I've seen a few propagators attach a frag of green and pink poccilopora to the same disc and have both grow in tandem, in a similar method to growing bicolor plating montipora.

It was a uniform brown and pink when I got it

give it some time, its possible that the green branches have stopped growing, not always does an entire colony grow equally, especially with stags some branches grow fast while other don't move for months...

With the light off, I took some iPhone pics with flash - so terrible colors.

The branch on the left is the green one that goes around and then up.

The polyps are not competing but they're also not at the same pitch, so it does look like a graft, but from the same parent colony?

Ok. It's been four months and they're growing at slightly different rates but still together

Here it is in September

The branches are a different thickness... So I think they're just grafted together.
