One more!

I am thinking I want to add one more fish to my 65g. I was thinking Kole Tang, but I don't think I want a Tang because of their Ich tendencies and not really wanting to have to feed Nori. I am not a big angelfish fan because of possible coral nipping. I would love a Mystery Wrasse, but I don't think my six line would like that much. I want something really stunning and don't mind paying a good bit for it.

Here is what I've got:

Pair of Picasso Clowns
Midas Blenny
Tailspot Blenny
Six Line Wrasse
Randall's Goby & Pistol
Red Scooter Blenny

That 6 line might not welcome much of anybody new. If he is one of the friendlies, what about a royal gramma? Would give you a nice purple you don't have yet.

Thanks sugardaddy. The 6 line is kind of a jerk. I have seen him tussle with the tailspot a few times and scarred him up a bit. Most of the time he is OK. I have actually considered pulling him out to open up the possibility of some of the higher end wrasses.

The Royal Gramma is not a bad suggestion, but I would kind of like to go for something a little on the rare side.

Flame angels always look exotic.

Cowfish have an interesting bodyshape.

Everybody should have a yellow tang. They add so much color and movement. Your tank is probably on the small side for that though.

Triggerfish are also interesting body types. Niger's are generally reef-safe.

I wouldn't worry about ich magnets for your stocking list. 8 weeks in hypo is easy enough to do and will get rid of any ich issues. I'm not sure I can recommend a kole for a 65g tank though.

Tank size aside, don't let short term difficulties get in the way of your long term dreams. The time will pass anyway, and you'll wish you had done it.

I've recently been excited about fairy wrasses and flasher wrasses provide a lot of movement and color in the tank.

i dont get this post. this is for a 65g..you're not recommending a kole but you mention other fish that exceed a foot. what's the point of that?

Do NOT get a cowfish. They are poisonous if stressed/dead and will kill your tank, especially with a jerky six line. I like anthias, and that would work

I also agree with Triggerfish that non of those fish besides possibly the kole and yellow tang would work. I am also looking for that "one more" fish and have a thread on it. I will say if anyone posts an interesting option.

For a 65 gallon you don't have a lot of active mid to upper water column swimming fish. Your six-line might be your most active fish. From my experience, clowns generally prefer sitting in their favorite spots and don't move around much once they get settled in.

You could probably do a flame angel if you don't have a ton of rock work it will disappear into.

Potters Angel is the Angel to get. Shy but beautiful and probably won't pick at any corals unless you are very unlucky

Blue spot could be neat. I have a yellow head and swordtail Jawfish in my 55g. Just watch out for the blenny and six line. Jawfish jump when the get bullied. Swallesi basslet is a good fish too. Heres mine

+1.

I have a solar fairy wrasse and just picked up a temmincks fairy wrasse.

My six line wrasse picked on my solar though and has since been sent to live with my g.smithii mantis shrimp. It was a bully.

Damn...I think I may be trying to catch my six line wrasse here soon. He seems to be the fly in my most of my awesome new fish ointment. Any suggestions on how to catch him?

I would not put a Kole Tang in a 3' tank personally. I QT'd mine in my 46 BF (also 3'), and even though it was only 3" long, it was night and day once I put it in my 6' 125. Just my opinion of course.

After two days, and catching my female clown fish twice and my midas blenny once the six line is finally out!

I just got back from taking my Six Line back to my LFS. I picked up a Yellow LinePossum Wrasse that I had been wanting, but knew he would not work with the six line.

They have a beautiful Leopard wrasse that he had ordered for someone. It has been there for 3 weeks and the person has not come to pick it up yet. He said if he does not come pick it up this weekend he will be for sale. I have been observing it every time I had gone in since he got it. It is very healthy, active, and eating well. I told him I want first dibs if he is not picked up.

Thoughts?
