One of our own in Need!

We will help when we can!

We will help when we can!

Also, I hope you understand that the club donation opened a door you might not want to open, what if someone else is in need again?

Look, As far as I'm concerned if you have a problem with this fund you have my Cell # And Any money from the Club if the Donations do not cover the amount given, Mel and Myself Plan on Covering this ourselfs! But that really should not be your concern or worries. I just hope you are not the next one that finds yourself in need someday!!!

Private Matters

Bill,

I'm glad to hear that it's somewhat under control now. Can we have more detail about

1.How much people donated so far?
2.How much the club donated?
3.How much does Scott need?

Thanks

All of these ??? are Private Matters that only the people running the Fund and Bank Acct need to know. When It's all over and the Donations Stop I will If all BOD members think that this should be Public knowledge LYK

Bill,

Don't be offended, I am trying to get more information for the club matter. I do think it should be public information, since it's a non-profit organization, also the club belongs to all the members. We all are trying to help, that's all. More information about how much more needed will help.

I am not trying to question you or BOD's judgement, it's a valid question, if someone else in the club is in need next time, do they get the same club donation like Scott got?

If the information shouldn't be shared for some reason, it's totally fine with me. I will not say more about this matter.

I would like to clear up a few of the misconceptions as far as what has been donated and who has donated.

Scott is in pretty rough shape. That being said, the club fronted him some money to get through the next several rounds of medications and procedures, as well as provide for his young child and family during this time.

Donations have been pouring in from the club and it's likely that other clubs will soon join in. The club fronted the money, because the money was a "œneed now" situation and couldn't wait for all the donations to come in. As of right now, the club itself has not donated money directly as the amount the club gave will be reimbursed with the coming in donations from the members and others. If the donations exceed the amount given by the club, all other proceeds will go directly to Scott and his family. We have received well over $700 dollars in donations and pledges to this point and expect more to come.

As far as what individuals donated and how much is not up to the club to disclose, but I feel that the total that has been donated is appropriate to show as it depicts what this club stands for and how much this club cares for each other and Scott in his time of need.

If you have any questions about this or have other ideas of how to help, please PM me or email and we can discuss.

Thanks

PS: please keep scott and his family in your during his time of need.....

I agree with jay 100%. With that being said. Scott has done alote for the club and it's members some may not see it but he does. Alote of are members are new and don't know what eBayfish and Scott have done for the club. Like me I didn't know till this pass year. Without the support of our lfs this club wouldn't be what it is today.( also it members) So we need to step up and help a fellow reefer & a friend in time of need.

I feel the club should donate a % of it's money that being raised for him. But not to disclose the amount that is donated by the club to the public just to it's members buy email or what not.

I've talk to bill about running an auction To raise funds for Scott. We just got to finger out how and where to do it. I'll be pm some mod on here if we can do it here or on our club website. At this time I'm asking any club member that has reef or non reef stuff laying around and they like to donate for the fund raise. JLMK and after I get it everything worked out I will let you know.

Thanks Z

I agree with Zef. Scott has helped I know Jenn and I on a lot of things. It is a sad time for him and his family.Good luck Scott.

Well Folks we are Now in the Black! As due to the Generosity of Mrs Denise Downey, Who made a Whopping 300.00 donation to the Fund for Scott we have now covered all the Monies that were Given to Scott on Weds so he could Keep his Drs Appt and get his house in order with Baby Food and Diapers.
If your Not Familiar with This Wonderful Lady She is dwdowney's (Dustin's Mom) And She has gone the extra mile IMO for Scott by her generous donation to help him. I have Sent her money to Rick who will be taking my Place in this Fund Raiser while I'm out of town for the Next Week.
So we'll See you all in about a Week.

Got some additional Info as to Scotts condition and the Dire Facts of not getting the needed care. They say he can get a Transplanted Eye replaced in the one removed but the Cost is somewhere in the 21,000.00 range just for the Donor Eye and the Dr! Also the Infection that caused this whole problem is still there causing the possibility of it getting to his other Eye.
This seems like a Huge mountain to climb but In Scotts own words he will try and somehow get the money he needs to save his sight.
Thanks to all that have helped and to those who will in the future as this is far from over for Scott.

SmyrnaReefer will be depositing $25 into the PayPal account for Scott, if he hasn't already done so, for the acan coral I donated and he graciously purchased to help.

Thank you MTRC for doing this, it was the right thing and thank you Jay for buying the coral I put up for donation.

Well guys I went to see Scott yesterday. And man his eye looks bad. He has some doc appointment this week to see if the bacteria infection is going away or if it's spreading.

He also like to thank everyone that has helped with donation. He would like to thank you his self but he's ban from rc.

So here's the scoop.

We gave Scott a check last week. The total amout will be disclosed at the meeting. Just so everyone understands the money came from the clubs bank account, but was all donations. We as a club have not given any money to Scott. I was getting some questions from members wanting to know how much the club has donated. As of now about $2! Just something to think about. We still want to make a club donation, but can workout the amount later.

If anyone wants to contact me email mtrctreasurer@ gmail.com

Well if you consider thatover 20,000.00 is needed we barely scratched the surface! But the money we have raised has helped greatly when you have nothing to start with. This is a task bigger than we alone can solve but lets try and just do our best for a friend. The amount the club donates should and will be discussed by the members at the meeting and Posted in the minutes for those who can not attend. Again this is why coming to the meetings is so important to all to attend If Possible.....
