onespot foxface sting

How much of a threat is a Onespot foxface really? I very tempted to get one as they seem no different than a tang in behavior and interactivity.. would the fish actually have to be aggressive and go after me to sting or just by me lighty bumping into it's spine like a longspine urchin would be enough to get a painful sting?

I don't think you have anything to worry about. They are big scared cats. Mine hides as soon as I'm working in the tank. I'm more worried about my urchin.

I believe some say they are hit or miss on being reef safe. Mine doesn't bother anything.

I like their personality and the look. Totally different then any other fish.

I have a BTA, birdnest coral, frogspawn, eagle eye zoas, ricordae, green toadstool leather, button polyps, some other type of zoanthid I can't id.., and an orange plate coral.. and I'm still adding!

So basicly the threat of being stung by a foxface would be one of those you'd have to be trying to purposely get stung type things.. I've pet mantis shrimp and stingray in the past so I guess it's worth a try!

hopefully you dont have to one day catch it to take it out of the tank. they get very big and swim super fast so be ready to move out of the way if it decides to accidentally jump out of the water but that can be said about any venomous fish

Mine is a big baby and eats from my hand. They are not aggressive whatsoever. You still need to be wary of their spines, but as long as you are careful there should be no issue.
