online order

Thread Lurker
I have to place an online order, does anyone need anything? I will be ordering from either marine depot, reef geek, or champion lighting.

There's not much I need in the short term, but out of curiosity, what sort of shipping were you thinking about? I ask because I placed my first order (ever) to Champion Lighting not long ago, and plain old UPS ground got it to me the very next day.

Yes champion ships fastest since they are in PA. If I order from CA in the beginning of the week, ground usually has it to me by thursday/friday.

Good idea on the ordering. I dont need anything from those guys, but I do need to buy a gfo reactor/gfo media canister (was planning on ordering two of the single stage ones from BRS -- but am open to suggestions) and (2) maxi-jets and plan on buying a big container of the bulk carbon and gfo from BRS if anyone wants in on that order /spilt some carbon or gfo...

Looks like I will be ordering from marine depot tomorrow. I was going to order from champion but they have a $10 dollar off orders of $75 and then went and jacked up the prices on the things I need by $10 each. If anyone needs anything let me know.

Also I will be looking to order some cuc soon.
I might be interested in getting in on that... I'm slowly stocking up now, and would be happy to share in shipping costs. Where are you thinking about getting that CUC from? Drs F&S?

for a cuc: if you are looking for a great price on a boatload of snails -- these guys prices are hard to match. reefcleaners.org... here is a link:
http://reefcleaners.org/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=4&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=34

They have always sent more than than i ordered. If you decide to go with them for some stuff -- Ill go in on the 500 dwarf ceriths...Im sure we can get several guys to participate. Id also order a few bunches of mangroves if you go through them.

Looks like an interesting site Seth. I'm good for kicking in if we work up an order there. But what I'm getting is so small, and such common stuff, I'm looking to jump in on an order... where ever it is.

So I'll watch and see what interest develops.

But FWIW, the shipping on that site is SO cheap, that unless you are looking to get their USPS express overnight shipping, there's little advantage to a group buy.

Thats cool. Just got off the phone with champion lighting and they matched marine depot (including the shipping). When I ordered my rke from them it came with a broken pc4 and the cust service was great. This is my second time I've talked to them and have to say both times have been quick and easy.

How soon can we do this?
I could be good to go right away, but the livestock would HAVE to be here sometime Thursday. Otherwise I gotta wait till next week.

How does it sound if we collect money and order info at this months meeting and then we can pickup during that week at whoever wants to place the order?

Oh yeah, should have mentioned in my last post...

CTARS was very nice to pm and mention if you are a CTARS memeber, then the order is eligible for a 25% discount on a group buy at reefcleaners .org. Makes a good buy even better!!!

membership has its privileges.

I'd love it if we could get a group buy going for some Trochus snails somewhere. Reefcleaners doesnt carry them and I like snail diversity in my tank and find that the Trochus are some of the better algae munchers. I also need an emerald crap now that I am seeing some bubble algae around, unless there is something else that gets rid of it..

Yeah they pm me also but I don't wish to join a club that only cares about my $20 and could care or less about this area of the state. I'm sure we can get discounts with a few e-mails, phone calls, and a little leg work.
