Online Petco

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I couldn't find an applicable one. I know of the reputation of Petco local stores, and that they are often very bad. But I was wondering if anyone has ever bought their inverts, corals, fish, etc. online? The prices are pretty good, and I don't think they would be THAT bad since I believe the stock would come straight from the wholesaler. How was the customer service for dead items? How healthy are they? Normal looks (coloring, etc.)? Thanks in advance!

I ordered from them once. I ordered 3 stoplight cardinals, 3 pajama cardinals, a royal gramma, and a mini-maxi anemone. All arrived alive, and looked good, but, lost the 3 stoplights and anemone before the first week was up. (many cardinal species are very poor shippers). Over all, I felt that Petco packed and shipped the order very well, and, their guarantee was a bonus...they refunded the cost of the losses plus half the shipping. I would order from them again with no reservations.

I just ordered 4 LT anthias and a yellow Fiji leather last week. The fish arrived healthy looking and eating like pigs. They messed up and sent me a regular toadstool instead of a yellow Fiji. They refunded me the full amount plus half the shipping I paid for the whole order. No hassle at all. They didn't even care that I still got to keep the toadstool.

I would use them again.

there is currently another petco thread in here with a fair amount of activity...check it out...

It is separate from the stores and is just mail order. I think the issues of unhealthy stock in the stores is because of the conditions in the stores and has little to do with the quality of the stock that is shipped to them.
