I have been lucky with breeding my onyx clowns, I currently have about 30 or so, the thing is that they all don't look the same, some only have a few bars and others have broken bars etc, why is this? Is this just how they are?. Tia
I don't know for sure but I got them from LA people always ask do they have three bars? It's almost offensive as it's just how these fish are right? I actually think that's awesome how there all different, I breed English bulldogs too and its like how they are also. The onyx clown reminds me of an English bulldog how they can barely swim around after they eat lol.
I also breed onyx clowns and we're about 2 months from seeing what the first batch looks like. We're getting around 60 to 80 survival per clutch and I expect every fish to look different...hopefully we get some wild looking ones!!
I wouldn't be bothered by every fish being different...someone will like them and just enjoy the hobby.
I kind of thought that the markings were more of a pack thing, like how there is worker types and then a leader type with full bars, someone also mentioned in one of my threads that if they don't have an anemone at an early age they won't develop bars bs?.
