Onyx clowns mating?

I've had a pair of Onyx for a couple of years now and I think I'm starting to see signs of mating. The female has been more aggressive around the anemone lately, stirring up the sand if anyone comes near. There's a big hole around the anemone where you can see shes moved the sand. I haven't noticed anything different with the male behavior however. Any ideas what is going on? When do pairs usually mate anyway? Thanks in advance.

My ocellaris were paired as juveniles. I had them for just over 2 years. They had their first spawn on Dec 23rd.

Sorry I forgot to add that I noticed nothing different about their behavior prior to the spawn. I only noticed that they were hanging around the base of one of their anemones a lot more than usual, I glanced in and saw the eggs.

You can't stop them from spawning, it is natural for them to produce. The only thing you can do is seperate them, why would you want to stop their natural behavior? The eggs will hatch but will not make it unless you raise them seperately with specialized food and care. You don't have to worry, you won't even see the babies, they'll get eaten, sucked into your over flo or just die from lack of food and too small to have a negative effect on your bioload. So I suggest you just let them do thier thing and enjoy them. : )

I have been planning to tear down my tank and replace it. It figures they'd spawn now. I will wait for them to spawn again in the new tank and I want to try ro raise the fry. I hope the upheaval won't effect them to much, I have been waiting for this. : )

Great, thanks for the info. I definitely wouldn't want to keep them from doing what is natural to them so we'll see what happens :)
