I think I had (yes I reduced them) my Radion's set to high.
I bleached this little guy out over the past two weeks.

Far right one closest is the picture from two weeks ago

Any ideas on how to help it recover?

I have burned my fair share of acros and they always burn from the tip down, never as in your pic. I would frag off as much good tip that is left and use very little glue to attach it to a new tile, i have seen the odd few frags react badly to super glue gel and/or epoxy when it is bunched up around the frags base tissue. Just some things to consider and i hope you can save that little guy.

Yep. He is loosing tissue, not bleached. Chances of recovery on such a small frag are minimal but not impossible. Frag off the healthy part and put it in a nice calm place away from powerheads.

Based on what I see in pictures, the set up is somewhat new, no? Little to no coraline, some algae growing on rocks. May not be an ideal condition for small and still weak SPS...

Yep stn, it happens sometimes. You can try to save it. Make sure you cut where it still good tissue and reglue.

Looks like stn, not bleaching from light.
OK I will check my alk and all too.

Doesn't look like bleaching to me either...
^^

Humm... I got this from a well know person on here and he has good ratings. Let me check all my levels again.

This is an upgrade from a 120. The coarline is just starting gto finally form on the back wall and PH/MP40's from when I cleaned them during the move.

The old 120 had coraline in lots of places.

Thanks everyone.

Ya but you just started your lights and acclamation cycle. How high is the intensity set for ?just wondering since I'm in the same boat but just starting my second week.

Yeah I had them set to acclimation mode and I had them set to a max at 65% I only had a few days left for aclimation...

After looking at some levels.. My alk is LOW... I am going to raise it a little bit over the next few days.

I am at
alk 7.8
phos .07
sg 1.026
am 0
ni 0
na 0
ph 8.1
temp 78.2

I think my alk was off... that caused the problem some. along with stress on the coral.

that frag is toast. and youre alk is fine. po4 is a little high. could be the LEDs if it took 2 weeks to melt. how did you acclimate the coral? dip ?

whats your mag?

Dipped and acclimated on a frag rack. I had recently got the frags so I was still in acclimation mode on the radions.

Well I dip everything and guess what I just found two nights ago:

It must have come in a polyp head that was closed or something. Needless to say.. I am REALLY glad I dip and then leave on a frag rack to keep any eye on it for a bit.

YES that white thing is a NUDI attacking/eating. It is now flushed.

Nice catch. There is a parallel thread going on about what people have tasted in their tanks. Next time cook the nudi or something, or you could just have it the sushi style.

It looks like a red dragon acro. They are very intolerant to phosphate in my experience. Your alk is not low enough to have affected the coral. It's actually quite close to natural sea water levels.

I had a monti setosa (like the one with the nudi in your pic if I am not mistaken) that broke off a piece less than a quarter inch, I glued it and it grew. Now Setosa IME is hardy so I don't know about the dying one, but cutting it and re-gluing is 100% the right thing to do. It is not over just yet.

UUGH... HAHAHAHA

OK.. I am not new.. but I am new to sps/lps and my first time helping a 19yo grow up... (hahahaha)

SO... maybe I am going at this wrong...

What should my settings be?

alk
ph
temp
alk
mg
nitrate
nitrite
phosphate
calcium
iodine
prozac
litihum
haldol
halon
mono-sodium-glutamate

I mean basics.... as in a range.. Yeah I know there are a lot of threads that say 7.9-8.2

and no, I DO love looking stuff up. But for those following along... what do you think?

Thanks!

Your dkh can be anywhere from 6.5-12 with 8 being a nice spot to keep it at. This is a really tough question on here because people will give you totally different opinions but I think if you maintain in those you should be fine. Calcium should can be any sorts of numbers just don't let it drop below NSW levels.

Keep you nitrates and phosphate close to zero maybe not zero and that's about it. All the other elements should be replaced with water changes and really don't need frequent testing.
