Oops it cracked... Ian's 220 Build and Rebuild

Ive also been looking at replacement regulators for the Milwaukee I have. Im looking at the Aquarium Plants regulators, I hear that they are the best but have never seen one. Does anyone have any experience with them

I have one of the aquarium plant regulators and they are the best, period. I wouldn't bother with anything else after using countless others prior to that.

I am selling mine if you're interested Ian. Pm me for details.

PS: aquascaping looks great... Nice 6105's too!~

I've gotten a few PMs about the light rack and winch so I'll post the details here.

The light rack is made of EZ tube www.eztube.com, you can see the plans I made above. It's worked well so far. It's holding about 40 lbs of equipment. 5 AI sols, 2 80w T5s, T5 ballast. There was a little bow in the middle where it was unsupported but I fixed that by screwing 2x Aluminum L stock across the rack from back to front joining all 4 of the cross pieces together.

The T5 is a 2x 80W retro kit from www.reefgeek.com

The winch is a hand winch I found at harbor freight. It dosen't have the best reviews but I assume most people are lifting more than 40 lbs. It was a little squeaky at first but some grease on the gears cleared that right up.

The pulleys came from Amazon, they are 1 ½" or 2". The cable is 3/8" and I got the turnbuckles at Ace.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Dave!

Oh yeah, one more thing, what are you all using for ATO pumps? I have a BRS dosing pump now and I hate that thing. A pump that small should not make that much noise. Congrats BRS, its now the loudest piece of equipment I own!!

Update

Update

Well, I was trying my best to wait until I was done with the cabinetry to fill the tank, but surprise surprise, that didn't happen. The same night I filled the sump and played with the new skimmer I decided to fill the display. Didn't see that coming... :lmao:

Boy am I glad I didn't give all my rock an acid bath! Last Thursday I was down at The Aquarius and saw a tiny little Potters Angel and a Multibar. I would have gotten them but the tank was still going through a little mini cycle after adding the old rock to the sump. Cycle finished up last Saturday so I headed back down hoping they were still there today, they were so I picked them up and also got a few corals back, so we're officially off and running.

The rest of the future additions will be;
Cleaner Shrimp
Green Mandarin
Clown Pair
Helfrichi Firefish Pair
5-6 Lyretail Anthias
Maculiceps Tang (in friends tank currently)

Here are a couple shots of my new fishy friends. I've been playing around with the camera lately and slowly am getting better.

Everything is coming along great. 4 Lyretail Anthias and a Juvi Naso Tang were added a few weeks ago. I have had a few small SPS frags in the tank for about a week, a Tenius, Spathulata, Millipora, Echinata and Valida, they seem to be doing well so far, all my LPS has been temporarily banished to the sump due to nipping by the Multibar. Carl (Gamecraze15) came by last night and we played with his new camera for a bit, everything was shot with a Canon 5D with a 28-300 lens. More coming shortly!

I have a few scolys in my collection and one has had a baby on it for a while. The one in the first picture was much larger originally but got stung by one of my BTAs when everything got tossed into another tank after the original 220 broke. I noticed the baby on the second scoly last week when they were moved out of the DT and into the sump away from the Multibar. Hopefully the 2 warpaints will grow some babies eventually too!

Sucks to hear that about your multi bar, Ian...the anthias look nice!...and I love that Potter's! She is a hottie!

Any decent FTS's.

Hey Scott! I'm not too worried about the Multibars nipping. 80% of the rock in the display was dry so there's not a lot for her to nibble on throughout the day yet. I think that and I only had a few LPS frags in the display so she was constantly nipping at 4 little chalices was making it look worse than it will be. The good news is she's eating everything from flake to frozen, so as the tank matures and more stuff is added, I don't thinks it'll be that big of an issue. The Potters is a cool little fish! It's always out and active. No FTS yet, it's on my to do list, I'll get the camera out tonight when the lights come on.
