Open bag live sand

I'm wondering if I can use the rest of this live sand in another tank? It's been opened about two or three weeks. I'm not worried about it still being "œlive" ( I really don't believe it's ever really live) but I'm worried about it sitting stagnate . And me using it may cause more damage than good. Thx in advance for info.

If it smells like rotten eggs, you might want to stir it up and aerate it in a bucket. Do not inhale. I doubt 2 weeks is enough to worry about.

Just sand, dump it in and go. I'd only be worried if your using Beach sand, then I'd say wash it a few times first- from experience.

Personally, I'd rinse the snot out of it with a hose. The tiny amount of bacteria, if it ever had any, isn't worth the silt-storm of putting the bag in as-is.
