aside from damsels and chromis and clowns.... How long after a cycle is complete do you guys feel its "MOST OPTIMAL" to starting adding fish.

Ive had a few unexplainable deaths and my water parameters are great.
there is a LFS where the guy was telling me he strongly suggests that not till the 6 month mark is reached should other fish than the above be added. He says after a cycle corals are good to go... but fish arent. He said as the tank matures it strongly increases survival rate of fish. Not reading this n e where i wanted some of the vets out there to chime in on this.

That sounds pretty bass-ackwards to me...most corals are a lot more sensitive to an immature tank than fish. Personally, I'd never add any "sacrificial fish" that I wouldn't want to keep in the long run.

Aside from chromises, damsels and clowns are about as nasty as they come in terms of aggressiveness, and are a real be-yatch to catch if you decide to 86 them.

How old is the setup? How did you cycle it? What size is the tank and how much LR is in it? Do you have a sump? What kind(s) of fish did you have problems with?

I agree with Greg on all points above.
