Opinions?

So I've had these two maroons in separate tanks for about two months. They've never been together or have I tried pairing them. I've read a lot about pairing hence the one in the breeding box. The big one is 3" and at least 3 years old. The other is much smaller and about a year old. It almost seems the smaller one is yearning to go meet the big one. The big one has not even gone near the box yet. Opinions on what might happen or where to go next?

It will be a risk with maroons regardless of the situation. some times the female just doesnt know when to stop and the male who has long submitted dies from the beatings. assuming the younger maroon hasnt turned to a female being all alone. if it is a female then the chances are .00000000and so on %.

The chances of a clownfish transitioning into a female while it's being kept on its own are extremely unlikely. They need another male to be able to establish their dominance to to make the transition in most cases.

I think this is not the case. The male need to have a female to suppressed him from turning female. Large clown by themselves always turn female.

I've read both. I believe someone on here posted a scientific article that says they need another clown to turn female. I'll see if I can find it
