Sorry for another thread on this, but I need some help here. I have a 125 fowlr, though there are a few ricordea on a piece of rock, that has ich. I thought I had successfully QT'd them all, but apparently not. There are a total of 7 fish in this tank that came in two separate batches.
1st batch went through QT and was cleared of ich as they went through hypo. Consists of 2 black volitan lionfish, 1 rhinopias eschmeyeri, and 1 scorpaena plumieri. All fine and healthy
2nd batch came from a established and almost year old 55 gallon tank. Consists of 1 zebra lionfish and 2 inimicus didactylus. These fish were healthy and eating.
Group one was in the tank for a couple months before group two was added. That was about a month ago. This last Week I noticed a outbreak of ich in the tank. First the lions started showing spots, now the eyes of the rhino are white.
So question is how to treat successfully. Rock is well established and I prefer not to kill it off by removing and let dry, but can I hypo with it in the tank? Would multiple QT tanks with say two fish per tank and hypo all of them leaving the 125 fallow be the best route? I have 2 29 and 2 40 sitting to use. Is there a possibility of fighting it in the tank through better nutrition? I have added a uv filter to help with the free floating cysts, yes I know it won't kill off ich completely but figured it couldn't hurt. I also have dosed Vitamin C to help build immune system, hopefully.
Help please as I don't want to loose these fish.
