Some people are asking how I have this RP placed, so here's a zoomed out shot. This is a 55 gallon tank, with 4x54WT5's sitting right on top of the tank. The Red Planet is about 8 inches from the bulbs I think.

I love stories like this! You did an amazing job with something most people wouldn't have looked twice at in a bargain bin. I have only ever had 1 success story that comes close and that was an alien eye chalise frag that "died" and was tossed in a sump I spotted a speck of flesh about * < that big and now have a nice colony

Thanks for the compliments, I'm really glad I took pictures documenting this coral, its really fun to look back! I've started taking pictures of all my corals even if I don't have a thread on them, sometimes I'm amazed when I look back over them!

Alright, here is a new pic from today, Oct 14th. The sideways growth has slowed down a lot and the coral seems to be focusing on growing little tips straight up and getting redder all over.

Here is a shot from a little higher up so you can see more of the growth that is hidden from side shots. I'll try to get a good top down shot to post sometime too.

And here is a zoomed out one of the Red Planet and corals around it. The Sarmentosa to the right of the Red Planet is going to have to be moved soon, I just need to figure out where to put it.

Thanks! The coral on the right is an Acropora Sarmentosa that I got as a frag on the same day I got the Red Planet. Growth for it has been painfully slow...
