Ok I have a quick question. I was at my LFS today and seen that they had two different Oregon torts. One was called true oregon tort and the other one was just a oregon tort both from ORA and on ORA plugs. I ended up getting the true because it was alot more blue in color the just plain oregon had alittle bit of green in it too. Has anyone else seen this with the oregon torts and with the names?

The one listed as the oregon tort was the orignal blue tort formORA and it is also known as a Cali tort. I do not know how or when it started, but I have seen a lot of people putting up pics of the cali tort and saying it was sold to them as the true oregon tort or an oregon tort. Since the true oregon is so blue, and a different shade of blue and more popular, I think some LFS are using the popularity of the name to sell them for more money.

After about a month in my tank, my Bellina has lost some of the brightness of the green in the polyps and the purple has dulled a little bit. Also, my Borealis has started to get blue tips. The Pearlberry looks great. Also, my Red Planet is very light in color but the green is starting to come back. Im thinking it needs a little less light so I may place it lower in the tank soon. It has been encrusting a lot and is now starting to take off vertically.

Im about 4 weeks into Brightwell's NeoZeo system, so my nutrient levels are very low and I have not yet started to dose Amino Acids. So Im hoping the colors will darken back up once I start the AAs in a little over a week.

All the pics are a little bright.

agreed my red planets in both tanks are growing like weeds.

My bellina is deep purple with lime green polyps. Almost like the plum crazy.

I think you might be refering to the purple plasma. My plum crazy is deep purple with powder blue coralites. Totally different than the bellina. The purple plasma is closer, IMO.

Nope. My purple plasma has a hint of light purple with green polyps.

My plum crazy is deep purple with the same deep purple polyps.

My Bellina is about that deep of a purple with lime green polys.

I have about 20 ORA frags between my two tanks.

My valida is coming along nicely too!

Blue voodoo and Joe the coral are similar, but the BV is blue tipped with tannish-brown polyps and Joe is blue tipped with green polyps.

My belina is also purple with neon green polyps.to me the belina, plasma and joe are very similar if not the same species with different color variations.when they get in our tanks they morph in different ways .and these are just frags, who knows what they will look like when they are big colonies.even the chips is very similar except not as vivid in color .either way i am addicted and tend to need every new release that comes out :)

Second that--I'm finding myself getting another colony of what is in my smaller tank for the bigger one!

examples:

Red Planet
Hawkins Blue

I forgot about my Phil's granulosa that is close to my red planet--they are in a "growth race":D

I have had my phils for some time and it looks great but grows painfully slow for me.the red planet has doubled in size in 2 months.anyone else notice slow growth on the granulosa

Bird of Paradise, Thanks a bunch Joe.

The 1st and 3rd pics were taken underwater with the camera...It's an Olympus Sylus 1030.

Move it to here. Getting my lights soon so I just stug the plugs on small rocks for now...
