orange spotted goby?

I bought a goby the other and put him in my QT.I have feed him twice and I have never seen him eat how ever when I leave and come back the food is in a pile.Is he doing this?If not what or some good way to get him eating?

Yeah I know that.Thats not what I'm asking I have live sand in my DT but its BB in my QT with some PVC pipe.I want to know about him eating in my QT

Sorry, must have missed that. My friend put LS in his QT for this fish. Can't help you but I'm sure someone else can. Sorry again.

The first time some pellets and I have some flakes that I feed my other fish so I tired that the second time to see if he would eat that and it just ending up in the same pile

frozen brine shrimp and/or mysis shrimp might work better. He is probably having a hard time not having sand in there so he's trying to construct his own DSB... which would take quite a while with flakes! You might consider throwing in some empty shells if you have them. They like to hide and burrow.

I have some mysis shimp that I feed my BTA would that work.What else would work I dont want him to die and I dont want to put him in my DT to early

maybe try small pieces of shrimp, mine eats basically anything but prefers to filter the sand for his food.

I hope my mistake dont cost me but here is what I done.I bought my goby Sat I saw him eat in the store I brought him home and feed him that afternoon he didnt eat.I have feed him every day in my QT and he is still not eating.So I know I shouldnt have done this but I figure since he was a sand sifter maybe I should go ahead and put him in my DT and maybe that would help him eat.Well I did and he is done fine he is eating he is sifter sand everywhere.How big of a mistake did I make or do you thank he will be fine?

long as it looked healthy and free of disease then i guess you made the right choice. only time will tell

Gobies are generally disease resistant. The biggest concern is environmental stresses. If it were me, and the animal looks healthy, I would probably give the animal a pH adjusted freshwater dip and let it loose in the display.

He has been doing fine in my DT eating and sifter the only problem I have with him is he has put a bunch of sand on one of my LR.Once he gets done doing whatever he is doing will he stop or should I take my turkey baster and blow my LR rock off

This what they do. You can blow the LR off, but you may be doing this a lot . . .

mine makes a big mound.

I is kind of a game between up. I move the sand around and he piles it all back up.

he'll always be sifting the sand, however he will still put some on your LR sometimes, once mine settled in it wasnt as bad. make sure he's got a nice spot to make himself a lil sand cave under some LR

Yeah I know he will always sift sand I'm talking about him moving sand on my LR I guess he is building his home and will settle down once he is done

They will keep moving sand . I haven't seen one settledown. I agree with the comments on ich resistant gobies. However if you choose to qt a fish in th futre that needs san you can always put a bowlfull in your qt.
