orangeshoulder with gold rim=problems?

hi guys

will an orangeshoulder coexist with a gold rim?
he is chasing him all the time
will they relax later or they are just like
powder blues with the powder brown that never get along?

has anyone kept them together?

i forgot to mention that they are in the qt(40 gallon) right now
and i had to seperate the tank.
the orangeshoulder was only 1 week there before the gold rim

it's a 125(5 ft)
i want to keep only 2 tangs in there(i'm 100% determined)

the gold rim is a must for me and i thought that the orangeshoulder
was a good choice as the 2ndone

is the DT too small also to have them both?

after i seperated the qt everything is ok

orange shoulder will outgrow your 125 fairly quickly. I would add a kole tang, lavender tang. Or try a purple tang. How big are the fish now?

they are very small
they were both juvenilles

i love gold rim so i traded olivaceus with a small yellow tang
i think they will be much better even in the long run(DT)

they are in QT,there are some "who's the boss" dances but nothing crazy

thanks for the advice, probably saved the fish and myself some trouble

Being both acanthurus species, your odds of them settling down in time is not great. the yellow tang is a better choice.

yes, your opinion is already a fact!
they are doing just fine, they also go for "walks" together from the
one end of the QT to the other

thanks again for the tips

i never thought that a gold rim would be incompatible with an olivaceus
