Which pump and body configuration would you recommend for 230 gallon system? I want nice and quiet. And only 29.5 inches to remove the cup. So max height will be about 28 or so to allow cup removal. I have plenty of footprint based on the designs I have seen. Height is the main concern. Nice quiet energy efficant pumps are what I want though.

They can get eheim 1262 pumps (this will cost more than their stock pumps, but they are about the quietest pumps you can use for $120 each) and mesh mod them, OR, they can buy the Euroreef needlewheel impellers for $99 each... they get about 900lph of air this way.
You could even stretch the limits of the skimmer by using only one eheim 1262... could be enough depending on your load. Just have a large enough diameter neck and plumbing ports on the skimmer should you decide to add the second eheim 1262.

Would it be better to use 3 aquabees? They built a system for someone like that. Basically the DAS ex3 skimmer

Three Aquabees will pull about 1500lph of air. Two eheims will pull about 1800lph.

I am still waiting on the dart NW myself.I think he is going to make it about 40 tall.Thats with the box aswell on the bottom.I still think they are playing around with the best design.I haven't spoken with Shawn for a while.I am ordering my tank in a week or so I may have him build me a fuge aswell.I know the tank will tank at least a month before its made

The Dart skimmer has been added to the ORCA site... 12" diameter, 40" tall, yes.

Oceanrunner 6500? Wish I knew... I started a thread to ask that.
Yeah I was hoping to be try doing a pic thread of my 6500 being meshmodded until I took another look at it and ended up breaking the impeller. I believe it was one of the 1st gen ORs, which could explain why it didn't last as long as the newer ones today. I'd like to see someone else try it though.

Sorry no new pics will try and take some later. This skimmer has passed the performance of my beckett skim(easily) at a third the watts I would say waste removal has increased 25%. A semi dry frothy cup. It skims very dry to wet. Broad adjustment like the bekett I used.
when I ran beckett with pressure pump I thought the Iwaiki40 return I had was quiet. Now I hear it. Cant hear the 3 ab's. Air intake is louder than pumps. Very please with the pumps. Although they where a little noisy the first week or so.
performance is outstanding, build quality outstanding
