Only 2" inches across. It said small, but this is hilarious.

Did you order from LA? If you did, then yeah, in the past I ordered a medium that was about 3-4" and a Large that was barely 5". To say that their sizing chart is off is an understatement. Maybe they size them on what they could look like if they were fully acclimated, healthy and fully expanded ;)

I'm thinking of calling them out on it. I also ordered a few other things that arrived in great shape especially from Diver's Den. Both orders were packed very well.

Not sure why, but they didn't pack the Kole Tang either with the liveaquaria order. Which is a pain, hate doing things separately after being all setup for it this morning.

Regarding the Gig, at least it is in good shape without any tears. I'm giving it a prophylactic mini Cipro treatment in the coffee cup for a couple hours before placing him in a fully cycled QT with EBAY leds. It is sticky and attached.

Since anemones are mostly water, it is not unusual for them to shrink considerably during shipping. Once it acclimates it will double in size.
At one time, it was common to "dry" anemones before shipping. They would put a few in a dry "bus boy" tray and before too long the tray would be full of water from the anemones.

It is really amazing how much free water a healthy anemone can contain.

Nice nem. Liveaquaria is drop shipped from quality marine. Divers den is a nicer facility in Wisconsin.

He's fully expanded in the QT tiny and cute. My issue is the cost for the size given. Definitely not 3 inches, maybe if I stretch him. I've dealt with multiple news past few years, I understand their form and function well.

I have actually had the opposite experience with DD. The last gigantea I ordered was sold as 8.5 inches -- second day in QT and it was easily a 14 inch+ beast. Similar story for a green gig that they sold me as a haddoni.

Not sure where they get their size estimates from.

The size can expand, I'd be more worried about the shape it came in. I typically associate bigger balding areas and stringy tentacles with less than optimal health for new gigs. Best of luck.

True, at least it is a Gig. It's settled in nicely in the QT attached and enjoying the low flow in there. Ready to treat it quickly though.

Liveaquaria saw the pics and credited the amount back. They also informed me kindly thats its stressed in the photo and needs care. Zero issues, great customer service as usual.

The kole tang wasn't shipped because they didn't have a healthy one in stock. Separate shipment at no extra charge. Still fairly spot on even though its Petco owned. For example each of the female lyrential anthias had its own shipping bag.

The gigantea is doing ok. Getting it acclimated to the light, doesn't seem to contracting, only once to clear. Mouth looks ok. Not going to treat yet unless it shows some stress.

Awesome, post some pics once it gets settled!

I definitely will. Keep us updated on your gig too. It looks great! I had two gigs in my 90 that my midnight clowns were hosting. Unfortunately my tank crashed about six months ago when my chiller malfunctioned on me and the gigs didn't make it.

how big did it turn out? and price paid? thanks!

It's only the size of a half dollar. It's tiny and I paid $145 shipped. Too much?

I have a gig that came from LA last year. Was listed as 4-5 inches. After cipro and qt it expended and was def around 7-8". Yours looks fantastic out of the bag. If you look at my thread, mine was and inverted blob when it got to me. But in the end it turned out fantastic and is almost bullet proof! lol
