Ordering tank online?

I'm finally getting around to ordering my first tank! I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with ordering tanks online through BRS, I'm just worried about it being damaged in transit. I've read some horror stories about tanks arriving battered and broken, but reading through posts and BRS website it seems they have good customer service and would replace it for free.

Do you guys think I would be okay to order it online?

Ordered my online, not through brs though. Not a single issue but the company I went through went crazy on packaging

BRS seems to me to be an entirely customer focused co. Thats why i would feel confident buying from them (but also realize there are cheaper alternatives)

Good rep for this company. Be sure you have a tank appropriate for the fish/corals you want to keep. And good luck to you!

I've ordered rimless tanks (smaller in size, a 22 gallon and 12 gallon) from Marine Depot and the amount of bubble wrap and packing peanuts was insane. They arrived flawless.

Thank you everyone! Takes a big weight off my shoulders that I won't have to be constantly worried about my tank arriving in one piece!

Putting in my order now!

While I would love to have a big tank, being in college means limited funds and space, so I settled for the 20 Nuevo fusion. Taking everything like a newbie and going slow, so easy and hardy fish/ corals. Nothing too fancy but I figure I have to get started somewhere and then one day upgrade.

go ahead and just get the starter kit...i almost went with the 20 but went with the 40 instead. i tried to build a starter kit myself on numerous websites and couldn't even get close to the price brs sells the starter kits for

I ordered a Red Sea Reefer from them three weeks ago. Red sea shipped it out the Friday the week I ordered it. I received it the following Friday.

The ordering part is easy, it is the getting the tank from the delivery truck to the inside of your home which might be the issue.

When you order tanks from different sites, they all have their own delivery protocol.

One place will have the truck show up at your house and unloaded on the curb.
Another place will have the truck show up and it is your problem getting the tank off the truck itself.
And another place will have you meet the truck at some spot in town to get your tank.

So if you order, make sure you know exactly how it is going to be delivered.

Oh man I could see how that would get difficult with larger tanks [emoji15].

Any idea where I would find the information about which delivery method a company uses?

Look on their website for the shipping.

Remember that tanks don't just ship plain, they tend to be in a wooden crate so your 100G tank is not going to be the size you think it is.

Suction carriers are your friend btw.

Ordered my reefer 250 from BRS. Entire process was quick and easy. Truck wouldn't come to the house because I live in a cul-de-sac so I met that up the road. The driver and I loaded it into my vehicle after I opened it up for inspection. I was able to get them to meet me at 5pm so I didn't have to leave work early!
