I have a little more time this AM to adjust the position of the anemone and adjust the flow to where I think is optimal for the him. I think over all he is doing better. He is still very sick because he is not stiff at all, as can be seen on the FTS last post. I wish I can move him from the rock easy. I don't want that LR in there but I don't want to stress him further.

I am glad my baby is in good hands. I work so hard to find the nicest anemones I can. Please keep posting pics and videos.

Your baby (my baby now) is doing great. It is one of the showpiece of my DT. I just clean the glass. I will wait until everything settle down and take a picture tomorrow. He is at a prominent place in my tank since he is such a special anemone

Uneventful first day of treatment. He expanded well, and stiff up against the current. His mouth shrink up and looking good. There is one area of deflation, I think is due to the anemone crab. This crab came with the anemone. I did not want to kill him leaving him in the 65 gal because there are two Mantis ogre in that tank that would love to club him to death and eat him. I put several anemone crab in my DT but all got kill by my Harlequin Tusk. I think he will stay with this anemone until treatment is done.

How do you transfer the large carpet from the display to the hospital tank?
Is exposing the nem to air inevitable or do you put it in a big container in the display, then transfer it to the hospital tank?

Gigantea anemones are sometimes completely exposed in the wild at low tides. There is no danger in transferring them from DT to HT and vice versa.

use common sense. Support the anemone so that he does not get injure due to gravity out of the water.

After the second night, he is looking better. I have positive feeling with this Gigantea treatment course.

My tank is 36 inches wide. The clam is slanted and mantel is 4 inches from the front glass and 2 inches from the back glass. He will out growth the tank in a year or two. I think I will donate him to the Texas State Aquarium when the time come
The shell is at least 26-28 inches

I find that anemones seem to be tolerant to each other. Different species touch each other without harm. Haddoni and Gigantea can stay next to eachother for long term. Magnifica touch the carpets of both species on occasion without harm. None of my Magnifica touch carpet longterm.

My sick Green Gigantea is doing a lot better after three nights of treatment. No deflation at all. He is expanding a lot. I will be out this weekend so I have to finish with his treatment by then.

Thanks guys. I got Acro eating flat worm, and spider eating Acro, in my tank and loss all my Acro. Just as well since the tank really turn into a Anemone tank anyway. I think I will just place a few SPS colonies, but it will stay as a anemone and fish tank. I will need to move by Blue Haddoni back into the tank, and my Green Haddoni/Gigantea hybrid back if I can find a place to fit them into it.

Well my sick Green Gigantea all treated. Last dose of antibiotic was Thursday night. Here he is Sunday afternoon. Right after I took this picture, I took him up to my office and put him into my 65 Gal office tank. Will update him in his final tank this week sometime. Hope he will do fine there and not further problem. Treatment was uneventful, which is exactly how I like it. Cost me about 100 gal of salt water and the medication. Since I use DT water to change the HT, I did not do water change for the DT. I guess since I was going to do 50 gal water change anyway, it really only cost me 50 gal salt water instead of 100 gal.
